3.1 Manage File in Vault

Get Started

No headings found on page

The Vault file browser has three top-level views to help you navigate your files:

1. Projects View

Organizes your Vault by project, mirroring how your analyses are grouped in Drylab.

  • Each conversation/analysis gets its own subfolder under the project

  • Files saved during a session appear inside the matching project folder

  • Use this view to navigate between analyses within a project

Vault path format: /home/user/user_data/[Project Name]/[Analysis Name]/[file] drylab://[Project Name]/[Analysis Name]/[file]

2. Favorites View

A bookmarked collection of files or folders you access frequently — across any project.

How to Favorite a File
  1. Right-click any file or folder in the file browser

  2. Select Add to Favorites (star icon)

  3. It immediately appears in the Favorites view

What to Favorite

Good Candidates

Reason

Active dataset (.h5ad.csv)

Accessed repeatedly across sessions

Persistent notebook (note.ipynb)

Your main working document

Results folder

Quick access to outputs

Reference genome or annotation file

Reused across multiple projects

Key Properties
  • Favorites are shortcuts — the file stays in its original project location

  • Deleting from Favorites does not delete the actual file

  • Favorites persist across sessions and machine restarts

3. All View

Shows every file in your Vault regardless of project, in a flat or tree structure.

  • Useful for searching across projects when you forget which project a file is in

  • Use the search bar at the top to filter by filename

  • Sorted by last modified by default — recently saved files appear at the top
